You know what young people in your community are experiencing — what’s working, what isn’t and what could be better.
LifeStyles wants to hear from you.
The new LifeStyles Youth Advisory Board gives middle and high school students across Southern Maryland a place to share ideas, develop as leaders and help create real positive change.
Applications are open to students in Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s counties.
Applications due September 11.
What Will You Do?
Speak Up
Make an Impact.
Create Something.
Grow as a Leader.
What Could We Talk About?
They might include:
Mental health. School safety. Bullying. Homelessness. Food insecurity. Transportation. Access to activities and resources.
Or something we’re not even thinking about yet. That’s exactly why we need your voice.
What Will You Get From It?
Leadership. Confidence. Teamwork. Communication. Public speaking. Project planning. Problem-solving. Community connections.
You’ll also earn documented community-service hours and may have opportunities for recognition and letters of recommendation.
And you’ll have something even more valuable: Real experience making your community better.
What Are You Committing To?
Serve a one-year term on the Youth Advisory Board.
Two meetings a month.
Meetings are about 90 minutes.
In person + online.
Meetings will be held at the LifeStyles office in La Plata and through Zoom.
