LifeStyles provides a continuum of emergency, transitional, and permanent housing services for Southern Maryland residents. Housing is provided in a structured environment, where activities such as chores, budgeting and life skills development are part of the program plan. Available LifeStyles-supported, short-term housing options include:
This 16-bed facility provides emergency and transitional housing for homeless men in Charles County. Case management, two meals per day and supportive services are available to participants for up to a 12-month period. Participants are asked to pay a program fee to subsidize the housing program and teach financial skills. Financial assistance is provided to encourage individuals to transition successfully.
Martha’s Place
This 5-bed facility for women and children provides emergency and transitional housing in Charles County. Participants are asked to pay a program fee to subsidize the housing program. Case management and supportive services are available for up to a 12-month period, with assistance to transition successfully.
Gayle’s House
This 8-bed facility for women and family survivors of domestic violence serves as a safe house for Charles County and St. Mary’s County residents. Case management, transportation, referrals to counseling resources and other supportive services are offered in a safe and comfortable environment.
Haven of Hope
This 5-bedroom, 3-bath home provides permanent supportive housing and emergency shelter for women and families fleeing domestic violence. Case management, transportation, referrals to counseling resources and other supportive services are offered in a safe and comfortable environment.
Southern Crossing
This 47-unit project will provide transitional supportive housing for individuals and families. This former motel provides efficiencies, 1- and 2-bedroom units. Southern Crossing is designed to serve as a one-stop-shop for case management, supportive services, workforce development and other on-site resources. Persons can participate for a 18-month period and will be assisted to transition to more permanent housing.
White Plains LifeStyles Center
Our new emergency shelter provides up to 30 days of safe haven for homeless families with children, as well as elderly homeless individuals. The new LifeStyles Center can house up to 25 people while COVID-related social distancing is in place. Ultimately, that number will rise to 50 men, women and children. The center also offers a day program available to all in the homeless population.
Domestic Violence Services
Case management, transportation, referrals to counseling resources and other supportive services are offered in a safe and comfortable environment for persons who are currently experiencing a domestic violence situation.
