Every Thursday, like clockwork, a special kind of energy arrives at the LifeStyles Distribution Center.
It’s not loud or flashy — but it’s steady, reliable and filled with purpose.
We call them the Thursday Crew.
For more than five years, this incredible group of women has been a vital part of the LifeStyles family. Linda Richardson, Iris Marshall, Juanita Conley, Angela Holt and Olga Wright — along with their dear friend Barbara Harrison, who has passed away but is with them in spirit — have shown up week after week, ready to serve their community with heart and humility.
They started at our La Plata office, lending their hands to the food pantry and Rosemary’s Closet. When we opened the Distribution Center in Waldorf, they didn’t hesitate — they followed the need and continued their service there.
Wherever there’s work to be done, the Thursday Crew shows up.
And it’s not just at the Distribution Center. They give their heart, soul, time and energy wherever they’re needed most. So they’ve also supported major LifeStyles events like our Community Resource Days, backpack drives, clothing giveaways and holiday basket distributions.
These women have become part of the rhythm of our outreach. They’re a dependable, compassionate force that keeps things moving forward.
Unity is at the heart of their story.
Volunteering together has given them more than a sense of purpose. It’s built a bond. Their teamwork is seamless, their friendship evident in every task they take on together. They laugh, they hustle, they lift each other up.
Most importantly, they lift up the people we serve.
In honoring the Thursday Crew, we’re reminded that giving back doesn’t have to be a solo act. When you serve as a team, you multiply your impact. You create something deeply meaningful. A shared experience. A shared legacy.
To Linda, Iris, Juanita, Angela and Olga: thank you for your years of faithful service. And of course, to Barbara — whose spirit continues to shine through her friends.
