LifeStyles of Maryland is thrilled to announce that we have been named a 2025 Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® grant recipient!
Thanks to your incredible support and votes in the Chick-fil-A app contest last fall, we have been awarded $200,000 to help bring our transformative Southern Crossing project to the finish line.
Southern Crossing is designed to provide temporary housing and life-changing resources for up to 77 residents, including individuals and families, for up to 18 months.
Once completed, this facility will be a beacon of hope for those in need, offering:
- Temporary housing in a supportive environment
- Case management services to help residents navigate their challenges
- Financial education and credit repair assistance
- Permanent housing resources
- Career training opportunities in culinary arts, computer skills, media education, and more
This incredible grant will accelerate the final phases of construction, helping us put the finishing touches on this massive project, and bringing us closer to welcoming Southern Crossing’s first residents.
A Special Thanks to Our Community and Partners
We couldn’t have achieved this milestone without you — our community. Your votes in the fall helped us secure this generous grant, and we are so grateful for your belief in our mission.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Ken Weikel, franchise owner of Chick-fil-A Waldorf, and John Flatley, franchise owner of Chick-fil-A La Plata. These two Chick-fil-A locations joined forces to nominate us, showcasing the power of collaboration and community spirit.
About the True Inspiration Awards
The Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards were established in 2015 to honor the legacy of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy.
Each year, grants are awarded to nonprofits that align with Chick-fil-A’s commitment to Caring for People, Caring for Others through Food, Caring for Communities, and Caring for Our Planet.
This year, $6 million in grants were awarded to 56 organizations, and we are proud to be part of this incredible group.
