The Market

In Southern Maryland, just a short drive from our nation’s capital, too many areas and too many people still lack access to healthy, nourishing food. The Market is a new initiative aimed at eliminating food deserts in Southern Maryland.

The Market will offer a mobile food truck that brings fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, dairy products and more to those with limited access to these nutritious foods. By partnering with local farmers and institutions, we can provide this food at an affordable rate, including for those who receive SNAP food stamp benefits.

As we continue working on the rollout of the mobile Market, Phase 1 of this project includes grocery delivery to remote areas, especially to the disabled, elderly and homebound. We also offer programs that assist low- to moderate-income individuals with transportation to and from the grocery store.
